Welcome to Kungyam Homestay, a warm and authentic Ladakhi village retreat located 96 km from Leh city, nestled on high ground with stunning views of snow-capped mountains, flowing streams, and the entire Kungyam valley. Surrounded by peaceful landscapes and pure nature, our home is over 40 years old, with a beautifully preserved 100-year-old ancestral section that reflects true Ladakhi architecture and heritage. We offer one cozy bedroom, a traditional Ladakhi living room furnished with Choktse (wooden tables) and Tsokdan (colorful carpets), along with access to both western-style and local-style bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Guests are welcome to join us in learning Ladakhi cooking, using fresh organic vegetables from our greenhouse and fresh cow milk from our own livestock. Enjoy traditional meals like Chutagi, Thukpa, Timok, Momos, and more—all served with warmth and love. From trekking to Phu Tso Lake to visiting 108 ancient stupas, spotting wild yaks, or chatting with locals about Ladakhi culture, there’s much to explore. Whether you’re a solo traveler, nature lover, or cultural explorer, Kungyam Homestay offers a peaceful stay, authentic experiences, and the heartfelt hospitality that will make you feel like family.
